The Sky Is The Limit
The process essay asked me to share my writing process. I began by analyzing my current writing process and what lead me to it. There have been multiple experiences in my life where I have tried various writing processes. Some have worked wonders while others have not. I thought into my past and explained how my writing process began. I talked about different techniques and approaches that I had tried. I use some of these approaches to this day. I also have dropped some of the approaches that have not worked well for me.
Prior to this assignment, I had not thought about my writing process in depth. It has always simply been my habit and routine. This assignment allowed me to realize what exactly works best for me and to write to my strengths. I realized that there are certain steps that I skip (such as brainstorming) when time is an issue. Therefore, I learned which steps of my writing process are more important to me and which ones are not.
This assignment was easy in the sense that I was easily able to figure out what my current writing process is. I could simply write and essay and keep track of what my writing process essay is. It was most difficult for me to remember how I got to the writing process that I use today. It was hard for me to remember the sequence of events that led up to my current writing process. After deep thought, I was able to figure out how it all came about.
The feedback I received was that I did well showing how my process changes depending on the situation. However, I needed to include more concrete details, such as what specific steps I skipped when being limited on time for the SAT Writing Test. I went back and included more concrete examples and earned a few extra points for doing so.
To write this process essay, I had to look deeply into my writing and analyze each aspect of it. I would then explain the important of each and give examples to support my statements. I realize that my writing process has room for improvement and that I may develop new habits as I continue to read and write more.
